Nervous System Quiz:-

The nervous system is the body’s communication network that controls and coordinates all bodily functions and responses. It consists of two main parts:

  • Central Nervous System (CNS): Composed of the brain and spinal cord, the CNS processes information and determines responses. The brain is the control center, responsible for thought, memory, emotion, and sensory interpretation, while the spinal cord transmits signals between the brain and the rest of the body.
  • Peripheral Nervous System (PNS): Composed of nerves that branch out from the CNS to the rest of the body, the PNS is divided into the somatic nervous system (voluntary control of movements) and the autonomic nervous system (involuntary functions like heartbeat and digestion). The autonomic system is further divided into the sympathetic (fight-or-flight response) and parasympathetic (rest and digest) systems.

The nervous system plays a crucial role in maintaining homeostasis, coordinating movements, and responding to environmental stimuli.
